Obituary for Frants Erik Nielsen

Frants Erik Nielsen
NIELSEN, Frants Erik (Frank), February 3, 1922 – July 4, 2015.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Nielsen our dearly loved husband, father, and morfar. Frank passed away peacefully at the age of 93, at home with his wife, children and grandchildren by his side. Frank is survived by his wife Alice, daughters, Pernille and Tina, and granddaughters Annalise Barber and Anya Reid. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
Frank was born in Lyngby, Denmark in 1922, the sixth of nine children. In the 1950’s he immigrated to Canada where he met Alice Sjogren, another Danish immigrant, and fell in love. They married in 1954 and lived in North Vancouver until moving to Bowen Island in 1989. Frank was outgoing, social, and made friends wherever he went. He believed the greatest purpose in life was to be happy and to have a family. We are proud to say that he achieved his purpose and taught us to strive for that same goal.
A memorial service will be held Sunday July 12, 2015 at 2 pm at the Danish Lutheran Church, 6010 Kincaid St, Burnaby, BC. Coffee reception to follow downstairs in the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society. To write a condolence for the family please visit www.mckenziefuneralservices.com
