Condolence From: Vintage Car Club of Canada - National Governors
Condolence:
Vintage Car Club of Canada President, Del Holbrook and the National Governors would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of long term member, Dick Parton, to our club and the Vintage Car hobby in B.C.

Dick loved to share his passion for vintage cars and join friends and wife Daphne and (since Daphne's passing) touring companion Anne Grieve, on V.C.C.C. driving tours and at community events. His auto repair garage in North Vancouver was a magnet for those in the hobby with something to fix or chat about. Dick was a wealth of knowledge for our members and helped many in solving their vehicles problems.

Dick was active in the V.C.C.C. for over 34 years and lead the organization as our National President from 1993-1997. As both a leader and club volunteer; he supported many regular Vancouver Chapter events - planning, organizing and ensuring they went off without a hitch. The Club is still reaping the benefits of his successful Expo ’86 fundraising raffle of the 1955 Chevrolet! He will also be remembered by many for his commitment to the annual V.C.C.C. Children’s Christmas parties – a tough act to follow!

Buicks were Dick’s car of choice and his all-time favorite was his 1933 Model 66S Sports Coupe. The car participated reliably in many tours over the years and Dick always enjoyed taking it out. Friends will fondly remember the sight of his two dogs in the back of the car!

With Dick’s passing, our hobby has lost one of its great supporters! Dick’s passion for the hobby will be missed by many in the Club.

On behalf of V.C.C.C. President, Del Holbrook and the National Governors; “Happy Trails to you Dick, may your journey ever continue…”

Condolence: Hello from Another North Vancouver Youth Band family. Those times were special for all of us working alongside Arthur Smith. As President of the NVYB, your dad played an integral part in keeping the Band up and running. Volunteers are so important!
Lots of memories for all of us. Wouldn't have missed those times.
