Bruce Hugh Redpath
Bruce Hugh Redpath
October 30th, 1949 - July 22nd, 2016

It is with great sadness and many broken hearts the sudden and unexpected passing of Bruce Redpath. Bruce cut a wide swath during his magnanimous life and there is now a great void where a great man once stood. He was a man of extremes and those who knew him would say that he enjoyed life, worked hard, loved hard and played hard. He slipped away peacefully in his sleep in the comfort of his cherished home in Vancouver early on Friday July 22. Born and raised in East Vancouver, he attended Gladstone high school. He touched and effected many lives over the years; was well known and had many friends, acquaintances, and business associates in the Vancouver community. Bruce was a hard working man who started out as an elevator mechanic and ended up in the restaurant and bakery business. He was a self made man and through much hard work and determination over the years he built several successful business's including; Stuarts Bakery in Granville Island, Sprinklers Restaurant, Max's Deli and Redpath Foods. Bruce lived life to the fullest and had a presence that was larger than life and was always a true gentleman. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed many cars and water crafts that were fast and loud including: Viper, NSX, Bentley, Mercedes, and in recent years BMW. In his later years he took up boating and enjoyed high speed Jet Skiing with his friends and could be found on the water on any beautiful sunny afternoon. Also enjoyed spending time on the water in his Baja speed boat which he enjoyed very much. His retirement plans we unfolding for extensive travel and Yhacting extensively through the Caribbean Islands and to sunny destinations . Sadly that plan was cut short upon his untimely passing. Survived by his loving wife Victoria and children: Tyler, Travis, Carson, Sawyer, Brett, Pierce and step son Lawson; grandchildren, Lauren and Jack, Mother Peggy and his two special dogs Amber and Nala. His family welcomes all that knew and loved Bruce to join in A celebration of his Life at The Arbutus Club from 4-7 on Friday July 29th,2016.
