Condolence: Please accept our sympathy for your moms passing. Jean was such a typical determined Irish woman. Throughout her life she gave out to others and gently steered those that needed help. She endured all that life throws at us and just kept going, even in later years. Her faith helped her to persevere and we hope now, she is reaping all that deserves in a different place.

Condolence From: Rev. John Shearman
Condolence: Remembering Jean's many kindnesses and thoughtful service through the years. While she was here at Delmanor Glen Abbey, Oakville, ON for only a short while, she is fondly remembered. She and I first met at a Christian Education conference when she and Art lived in Newington, ON while he studied for the ministry at Queen's University. We reconnected when she and Baz moved to Oakville and attended Glen Abbey United Church. John Shearman.

Condolence: I am saddened to read about Jean's passing. I worked with her at WCH for many years. I don't have to tell you that she was a very special woman. She always had a smile, a kind word and a gentle touch to give to those around her. She officiated my wedding ceremony in my friend's backyard which I now see was her birthday! Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Jean, until we meet again, love Rosanne

Condolence: I was saddened to learn of Jean's death this morning in the Toronto Star. At the same time it brought back many memories of the years we worked closely together at Women's College Hospital. I was the social worker on the NICU and High Risk Maternity Unit at WCH and worked closely with her for several years prior to her retirement. She was the core of a small innovative Perinatal Bereavement Team-- initially we alternated on call 24/7. Not only was she able to provide exceptional support to her patients and their families, but she was always there for staff too. In all my years as a social worker in the health system I have encountered very few people who commanded the universal respect in which Jean was held. I will always remember her with both affection and professional respect.

Condolence: I read of Jean's passing this morning and was saddened. I first met Jean in 1982 at WCH. My daughter Katie was in the NICU and Jean provided comfort and counseling around her difficult birth and near death. In early life, Katie was diagnosed with severe cerebral palsy. Several years later I reconnected with Jean as Katie had again experienced significant medical issues. She was the most kind and compassionate women and helped me immensely through the darkest times of my life. Thankfully Katie is still with me (34 this year) and doing extremely well. It is a miracle. I think of Jean often and wanted to convey my sincerest condolences to all of her family and friends.

Condolence: Dear Audrey, Valerie, Pamela and Cindy, We are so sorry to hear that your dear mum has died. The end of an era but more importantly for you all, the end of that journey with your mum. I didn't know your mum, but we have as a family heard stories about her, and you all, and I still picture her as that pretty young woman holding a baby in the photo of all the family when you visited Bangor in the early sixties. And from the Christmas card photos your parents used to send of you all. I also remember the photo of her on her wedding day to Uncle Arthur, with Dad there and our mum a bridesmaid. Another time, but precious. I have met you Valerie, and your girls, and would love to meet you all one day. I do send you my heartfelt love and condolences at this time. I know it won't be easy but I am sure you will all rise to the occasion and give her a wonderful memorial service. I would love to see any tributes from that, if possible. I am also sure that you will honour her memory by living your lives to the full - what any mother would want for her children. God bless you and your families. With love, Heather, Guy, Georgia, Lucia and Eliza xx
