Obituary for Gordon Elliott Trousdell

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Trousdell on 21 January, 2015. Gord leaves his wife (Lilian) and two children (Tesla and Harrison); his mother and father (Wendy and Blair); his brother and sister in law (Doug and Michelle); and many other relatives and friends. He will be sorely missed by all.

Gord's early focus on windsurfing, rock- and ice climbing, hiking and skiing gave way to kids, beekeeping, chickens and renovation projects in recent years but he always kept his passion for the outdoors and in particular his keen support of environmental issues. Gord began his teaching career in the Middle East and for the past 9 years taught Physics, Mathematics, and Urban Agriculture in West Vancouver at Rockridge and West Vancouver Secondary School, where he also coached Rugby, Curling, and Robotics.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the many doctors, nurses and support staff at the BC Cancer Agency, the Chemotherapy Department at Lions Gate Hospital and the North Shore Hospice who cared for Gordon over the past 16 months.

A Celebration of Gord's Life will be held at West Vancouver Secondary School, 1750 Mathers Ave, commencing at 1:00 PM on Saturday, 21 February, 2015. (socks and sandals optional).
